The X Games is an annual sports event, controlled and arranged by American sports broadcaster ESPN, which focuses on extreme sports. The competition often features new tricks such as Tony Hawk’s 900 in skateboarding, Travis Pastrana’s double backflip in freestyle motocross, Heath Frisby’s first ever snowmobile front flip in Snowmobile Best Trick, and Torstein Horgmo’s first landed triple cork in a snowboard competition. Concurrent with competition is the “X Fest” sports and music festival, which offers live music, athlete autograph sessions, and interactive elements.
In 2013, the competition was performed in Barcelona. The design team contacted me through a contact who knew me, and they proposed me to collaborate with them because they hadn’t enough design staff. So during 2 months I worked within the graphic design team of the event to help to produce new posters, advertising and signage for the event. The most important were to follow the brand guidelines so all the elements kept the same global identity. Mainly I designed backstage signage, directional signage to guide the attendees to the event placement, design posters, prepare the files to get printed, place the signage in the correct locations and coordinate the volunteer team which were working with us.
